| “We found a gem of an inn in St. Mary’s, Georgia. Spencer House Inn is one of the prettiest Select Registry inns we’ve visited with great amenities. Mike and Mary are the innkeepers. They are wonderful hosts. Their staff is kind, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. This was our first visit, and we felt like we were old friends. St. Mary’s is the gateway to Cumberland Island, natural and historic beauty with wild animals, including horses, nature trails, and beautiful ruins of Carnegie mansions with significant historic ties. The food is delicious and plentiful. The accommodations at Spencer House are wonderful. The picnic packed for us by the Spencer House staff was everything we needed during our island visit. When we returned to the inn from Cumberland, Teri had homemade cookies and brewed a fresh pot of coffee just for us. As for comfort, it was simply the best! Finally, unlike any other inn we’ve visited, Spencer has an elevator! We did not lift a case or climb a stair. They do have a beautiful set of stairs if that’s your preference. Give this one a try. We certainly are going to visit Spencer House Inn again.” |
